June 21, 2025

Any Florentine hotel should have art at its heart, and Collegio alla Querce Auberge is home to an astonishing collection.

STANLEY STEWART, CONDÉ NAST TRAVELER

Everard Read had the privilege of assembling and curating the core art collection for Collegio alla Querce, a new luxury hotel in Florence, offering all the pleasures of a refined, country home. The hotel, which opened in March 2025, is part of the Leeu Collection and operated by Auberge Resorts.

Acclaimed British writer, Stanley Stewart, notes that “Any Florentine hotel should have art at its heart, and Collegio alla Querce Auberge is home to an astonishing collection, with hundreds of pieces: contemporary canvases, ceramics, sculpture at every turn. I loved the geometries and deconstructed maps of South African artist, Gerhard Marx. My room had a wonderful painting by Nigel Mullins that grew on me day by day. I took a different route to dinner every evening just to see the breadth of the collection.” *                                                                                                                                                 *Condé Nast Traveler, May | June 2025
