Everard Read London presents

Daniel Naudé

A Decade of Seeing

13 February - 2 March 2019

Everard Read London is pleased to present an exhibition of photography by Daniel Naude.

Daniel Naudé’s photography tries to capture a moment of sharing between humans and animals: from feral dogs in South Africa to sacred cows in India, birds from Australian tablelands and rainforests. From his first encounters with stray dogs in Africa to his shots of the bowers (Australian birds that decorate their refuges, called bowers, with coloured objects – and other ornaments ), Naudé manages to give the impression of time standing still between himself and the animal that he is photographing. The attitudes, the look in the eye, the unexpected lighting effects all make these portraits, for portraits they are, an attempt to create an enduring memory of what humanity is slowly and surely destroying.
