The Hermanus FynArts Festival has moved online and presents FynArts Select. This is a re-imagined and extended programme of the Hermanus FynArts festival, which includes a number selected events online.

Cape Town based artist, Beezy Bailey, has been chosen as this year's Festival Artist and will present a digital exhibition of several paintings and bronzes.

Daniel Naudé has been selected as one of the award winners for the 6th edition of the Life Framer Photography Prize in the Youth-hood category. This is a unique photography competition and a renowned platform for discovering and exhibiting contemporary photography worldwide.

SUMMER 2020

17 July - 26 August 2020

Everard Read London presents its annual SUMMER exhibition - new paintings and sculpture by 20 artists, primarily from South Africa and the diaspora, but also from England, France and Italy.

The exhibition includes work by established artists at the peak of their powers, as well as younger artists beginning to make their mark.

Most works have been made during the period of lockdown imposed in many countries around the world in response to the pandemic. While the rhythm of life has changed for many of us, days of isolation are the preserve of artists for most of the time. Even so, many artists have reflected on the silent skies, empty streets and stillness around them, amplified by the consoling swell of birdsong.

What lies behind the Sorry Series is the idea that we are aware… that we know and see…. selectively. We select both consciously and unconsciously in order to protect ourselves from too much of that which challenges us or make us uncomfortable in some way...
