A Note From Error

Everard Read London present a solo exhibition by Johannesburg based artist Blessing Ngobeni. Fuelled by the social injustices of post-Apartheid South Africa, Ngobeni joins a distinguished lineage of artists who dare to critique the status quo. His work is said to “borrow from the language of Surrealism, the anarchy of Dada and the figurative violence of Neo-Expressionism." *

“The sacred fire is the irrepressible and permanent need to keep working in my studio, every single day, to the point of feeling guilty when for one reason or another I have to stop. The studio is my favorite place of life, the place where I feel anything is possible to live the adventures of form and color, order and chaos, transcendence. And to experience some truths revealed by the work, on myself, on the nature of the world and the great mystery that surrounds everything, on aesthetics or geometry or beauty, and always in connection with the dears absents, the ones I call my invisibles-still-acting."

Everard Read London artist, Barbara Wildenboer is featured on art and visual culture blog This is Colossal. The article looks at the South African artist's practice and use of old books and vintage maps in her three-dimensional artworks, with mention of her upcoming Everard Read London 2019 exhibition Babara Wildendoer: Folly.

Wildenboer's work is part of the art collection at Linthwaite House hotel overlooking Lake Windermere in Britain’s Lake District.

British sculptor William Peers’ monumental sculpture Wild Albert graces the lawn of the newly reopened Linthwaite House overlooking Lake Windermere in Britain’s Lake District.

Carved from a single block of Carrara marble, the overlapping rings play tricks with the light and the sculpture appears to float amongst the wild flowers.

 Peers lives and works in Cornwall and he follows the long history of English stone carving brought to prominence by artists such as Henry Moore and Eric Gill.

William Peers will have a solo exhibition at Everard Read London in March 2019.
